I live in Holliston, and keeping up with what the town decides is harder than it should be, because the record is public but scattered across meeting videos, minutes that post weeks late, agendas, warrants and a town website that lags the meetings by months. The Holliston Ledger pulls it into one place, linking to the reporting that already exists, like the Holliston Reporter and HCAT, and adding what the boards decided, what it costs and what comes next, straight from the record.

What you’ll get

  • The Briefing, Tuesday mornings: the town’s news in short linked headlines.

  • This Week at Town Hall, Saturday mornings: the week’s votes and spending, the agendas for the week ahead, and answers to readers’ questions.

  • Voter Guides before each Town Meeting and town election.

  • Meeting Notes after the biggest meetings, like Town Meeting: what was decided and what it costs, with a link to the town’s recording.

It’s all free, and the unsubscribe link in any email lets you turn off a section without dropping the rest.

I use AI to transcribe meetings and draft summaries, and I check every number, vote and quote against the source before it runs, with a link to where each item came from. Corrections go at the bottom of the post and in the next weekly, and ★ marks items I reported from the record myself. How The Ledger Works explains how these tools are used in further detail.

The Ledger is independent of the town, HCAT and the Reporter, and when I write about something I’ve been involved in, I’ll say so. If you know something the record doesn’t, or think I’ve gotten something wrong, reply to any email.
